Technique Tuesday

Yes I know it's not Tuesday today - I'm not THAT bad (yet...). These are the 2 techniques we did in yesterday's class. The first is faux woodgrain.

We just dragged the ink pads across the paper and then drew in the "plank" lines. You could also use an old toothbrush dipped in drops of reinkers and drag it across the cardstock or if you really wanted to be quick and easy and have the SU "dry Brush" wheel you could use that. This background is great for a guy's card.

The second one isn't really a technique - it's a shaker card.

We again did the quick and easy version using a small cello bag which works fine as long as your "shakers" are flat - otherwise you have to use the foam mounted version of the shaker. Quick and easy is good for me :o)

For those of you who are anxious to see sneak peaks of things coming out in the new catalog, Linda has posted the new colors, the new bling and a new stamp set on her blog - you can see them here.

My older DD has dress rehersal for her dance performance tonight so we'll be busy the rest of the day. Hope you all have a great day!
