Featherdale Wildlife Park

It was actually sunny this morning when we got up so we quickly jumped in the car and headed off to the Wildlife Park before the weather changed its mind. My older DD has been dying to be able to touch some koalas and kangaroo and I knew you could do that here. Right as we walked in we saw a bunch of wallabies sitting around just waiting for us so the girls were very excited. We bought some food so they could feed them and spent the next 1/2 hr walking around feeding and petting the kangaroos and wallabies.

The only thing you have to watch for is the emu's - they are not shy about taking food from your hand - your backpack - or even your pockets.

We saw a bunch of albino kangaroos which were a little strange to see - their fur is much fluffier than the regular kangaroos.
Then we got to pet the koala and hand some gum leaves to him - they are just so stinking cute!

We also saw lots of wombats, an echidna and a tasmainian devil. We didn't get to see the big crocodile - he was hiding at the bottom of his pond - and the dingos were all asleep too but it was a fun outing and the kids bought toy wombat souvenirs.

Wonderful pictures!! Better now show my little one...she'll be begging to go to Australia!

Oh...and I have to tell you about my t-shirt I bought recently! It says "No Kangaroos in Austria!" and I thought it was hilarious!

Glad to hear you're having fun! Hopefully having your mom home will help!!

Huggs,
Jana

Ok, I have to leave a "Seinfeld" tv show reference: "Maybe the dingo ate your baby" (spoken with a heavy fake Australian accent by Elaine at a crappy party to an annoying woman). As soon as I read that the "dingos were all asleep" it came to me...I'm crazy...I apologize for that. Us southern girls don't see or hear about dingos, well, ever. Have fun, hope the rain continues to leave you alone! Cute pics of the girls!

I am so jealous! My girls and I would flip to be there. I am glad to see you are having fun. You are missed here. Yes, it is 3:31 am here. I can't sleep. So thought I would see what you have been up to. Hope everything goes well with the wedding. I know your hands and fingers must be tired.
